Exodus: The Ukrainian refugee crisis in Poland

On the 24th of February Russia launches a special military operation in eastern Ukraine effectively declaring war against the neighbouring country after years of conflict in the Caucasus. The war declaration caused one of the biggest mobilization of refugees in History. An estimated 12 million ukrainians fled their country, leaving behind their homes, their lives and families.

Around 4 million ukrainians seeked asylum in Poland, constituting an 8% of the polish population and increasing Warsaw's population by 15%.

This documentary portrays the actions taken by polish associations and citizens during the month of April in order to help accommodate an unprecedented number of refugees.
