Hopeland: An Eco-Community in Southern Greece
Hopeland is an eco-community located on a 7.6-acre property in the area of Argolida.
The community was first conceived in 2011 as a place where families could spend time outside co-living with other families and learning about nature.
The creator and owner, Erato Hatzimihalaki, founded the project establishing four fundamental Pillars: Environment, Tradition, Culture, and Personal Development, which have remained the same ever since.
After the first 7-year period, Hopeland opened its doors to the world, hosting international projects in collaboration with Erasmus+ and the European Solidarity Corps.
Nowadays, Hopeland hosts long-term volunteers during the year, as well as people that want to live a sustainable lifestyle, get to know and help local communities like the town of Koutsopodi and work on themselves.
This documentary aims to portray the lifestyle in Hopeland, a clay oasis outside of modern civilization.
